Observatories for Schools Event : Banbury : 23/01/2015
In conjunction with the Space Studio Banbury - the first dedicated Space School in the UK - the NSO is hosting a FREE workshop for teachers and schools that are planning to establish an astronomical observatory at their school, or have already done so and are wishing to network and share their experiences. During the evening event, we will hear from Hayley Flood (the 2014 Patrick Moore Medal Winner), who was instrumental in setting-up the Malcolm Parry Observatory at her previous school in Derbyshire, and will provide solid advice to those wishing to follow in her footsteps. Participants will also be given a general introduction to astronomy equipment and resources that should be suitable for use in schools and astronomy clubs, together with expert advice and tips on image processing and data analysis.
